As a private Christian school serving the Greater Winston-Salem area, we focus on providing challenging academics integrated with Bible-based instruction.

Open Enrollment occurs all year, so, as long as space is available, you may enroll your child at any time.

Preschool & Transitional Kindergarten

Either during your tour of St. John’s or afterward, parents of applicants for Preschool (3-year-olds), and Transitional Kindergarten (4- & 5-year-olds) submit an application. Numerous other forms are required as part of the application process and before acceptance to St. John’s. After the tour/interview is completed and all forms are submitted, St. John’s administration will review your application and will notify parents of acceptance, denial, or waiting list status.

Once notification of acceptance has been received, a $200 registration fee plus applicable curriculum fees must be paid to hold your child’s spot in the classroom.

Elementary School (K - 5th)

Either during your tour of St. John’s or afterward, parents of applicants for Elementary School (K-5th) submit an application. Numerous other forms are required as part of the application process and prior to acceptance to St. John’s. We will review the application and notify parents of acceptance, denial, or waiting list status. Once notification of acceptance has been received, parents must submit a $250 non-refundable registration fee to hold the child’s spot in the classroom.

  • Letter of Reference (from most recent teacher)
  • Child’s Medical Report*, signed by physician
  • Medication Administration Authorization Form (Only required if child needs medication during school hours), signed

  • Birth Certificate, photocopy
  • Extended Care (optional), signed if applicable
  • Auto Draft (optional), signed if applicable
  • Emergency Care/Medication Teacher and Extended Care, signed if applicable
  • Student Records from previous school (Students entering 1st through 5th grade, please submit current progress report, report card, and discipline records at the time of interview.) Once accepted and prior to school starting we will request records from the school.)

*A Physician’s Medical Statement, indicating that your child has been examined and properly immunized, must be filled out and submitted to the school office by all new students entering K – 5. The Physician’s Medical Statement must be dated within one year’s time prior to the first day of school.

NOTE: Kindergarten students (5-year-olds) must reach the target age by August 31st of that year. Additionally, Kindergarten students entering St. John’s as new students must complete the Gesell School Readiness Screening administered by a certified proctor chosen by the administration. Kindergarten parents are responsible for the cost ($50) of the Gesell screening.

Tuition

Our tuition structure per school year is simple:

  • Preschool & Transitional Kindergarten:
    Half-Day: $3,900
    School Day: $5,600
  • Kindergarten – 2nd Grade: $6,100
  • 3rd – 5th Grade: $6,300
  • Multiple Child Discount: 10% for the youngest child in the family

If you belong to a Lutheran Church in the Triad, you will receive a 15% discount for each of your K-5 grade children. Rreferral incentives available in the form of reduced tuition payments are available for families who refer students accepted into St. John’s. Contact us for more information.
