For those hooked on reality TV, Katelyn Marks and Austin Simmons may be familiar names. Both appeared on seasons of American Idol, with Marks making it to the 4th round of auditions. Most of the concert performers at Ignite are local and many have a following in either the Christian or Country music scene.
Headliner Katelyn Marks has made a name for herself primarily as a Country singer – opening for acts such as Steel Magnolias, Little Big Town and Bucky Covington. However, her faith is a big part of her life – as is her home church, Pinedale Christian Church. Marks grew up on Christian music and still loves to share her gift singing inspirational, contemporary songs that appeal to a broad audience but particularly teenagers.

For a small, Christian school like St. John’s to raise money for a new bus, it had to think big. One might say, as-big-as-a-bus big. The school’s PTO has done just that by creating a music event targeted at not only school and church families but the public at large.
A crowd of about 650 is expected, including St. John’s families, local youth groups and the community groups. Aside from music, the event will feature food from Papa Murphy’s Pizza and Baskin Robbins Ice Cream. T-shirts will be available for sale, and sponsors will be providing door prizes. Free parking, drop off and shuttle service are available.
